We're Up and Running

This chapter had been sleeping since it came into being in 1999 first as the Germany Chapter, now as the European Chapter. With encouragement and help from George Mendoza, I finally decided to awaken it from the dead in the spring of 2005. This webpage has been up and running since March of that year. We put in the guestbook (see below) in March of 2006.

George is now, as of spring 2006, back in the U.S. and has passed on all responsibility to me. My thanks go out to him for all the help he has offered over the past year and a half. They say that "unity of command" is one of the principles of war; we'll see how that works out!

Stand To on the Mosel River!

We had our first stand-to on Saturday, July 2nd, 2005 in the town of Alf on the Mosel River. It was attended by former cadets from four different decades. A full report and many photos are available here.

The same event was scheduled for Saturday, 1 July, 2006, but had to be cancelled do to lack of interest or availability. Only three former cadets responded positively to the call for participants. Please get in touch if you have any ideas for an event that would draw more interest.

Coming to Europe?

Whether coming to Europe for a PCS, TDY or just on vacation, there are NMMI alums in Europe here to help out or just say hello. If you are planning a trip to Europe and would like to contact some of them, just get in touch and I'll see how I can set you up. If you are planning a trip to Germany and you would like to talk with me about what things are like here, feel free to write me. I have been living here for my whole adult life.

So Get in Touch!

Anyone interested in getting in touch with NMMI alums in Europe, helping with or attending events, contributing ideas or participating in any way should sign the guestbook and/or send an e-mail. We are looking forward to hearing from as many NMMI alums as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from and meeting all of you,
